The California dream can now be found in a whisky bottle. Award-winning 10th Street Distillery’s newest release, California Coast Whisky is now available throughout the state of California for your sipping pleasure. The first blended whisky released by 10th Street is sure to be a hit with long-time fans as well as new enthusiasts.

“This blend is something we’ve been working on for a while and we are really excited about it,” said Virag Saksena, 10th Street owner and distiller. “We wanted this whisky to be a representation of what California means to us, as well as have a certain style that is new to the 10th Street lineup.”

Produced with the same innovation 10th Street single malts have come to be known for, California Coast Whisky marries the distillery’s STR and Distiller’s Cut single malts with two amazing pot-still distilled light whiskies, sourced from the old Seagram’s plant in Lawrenceburg, IN. Light whiskies are distilled to a higher proof, resulting in a delicate spirit and a canvas to paint on by blending in fuller flavored single malts. The result is a refreshing light whisky that is great for sipping or mixing in your favorite cocktail.

California Coast Whisky is available at fine retailers across California including the Whisky Shop in San Francisco, Palo Alto Fine Wines in Palo Alto, Vintage Wine Merchants in San Jose, Southgate Liquors in San Jose, Dick’s in La Jolla, Noe Valley Wine & Spirits in San Francisco among others. It can also be purchased on the 10th Street website.

As with the other 10th Street whiskies, the California Coast Whisky is non-chill filtered. It is bottled at 42 percent ABV and retails for approximately $34.99-$39.99. Here is a sneak peek of what imbibers can expect from this new offering:

Color: Lightly oaked Chardonnay

Nose:  Pleasant and immediately approachable, greeted with the familiar flavors from American oak cask, stewed stone fruits, vanilla custard, coconut cream, but also uniquely 10th Street, sea air, salinity, cocoa puffs, red pu erh tea, the first rain on dry concrete

Palate: Easy to drink, panna cotta, light campfire embers, dandelions, and heathered honey

Finish: Leaves you wanting more with glazed donuts, lime Altoid sours, and lingering silky mouth-feel.
