Alpiner Extreme Automatic- Back To The Roots With A New Ice Blue Dial

The latest addition to the Alpiner Extreme Automatic family features an exclusive new blue devised especially for this model. Harking back to the roots of the Alpiner, this radiant glacier hue with just the right balance of blue and light grey instantly calls the mountains to mind. Housed in a compact, cushion-shaped 39x40.5mm steel case, the timepiece asserts a subtle and discreetly sporty elegance. Its beating heart is the self-winding AL-525 calibre boasting a 38-hour power reserve. Decorated with the triangular Alpine summit motif, the dial displays the date at 3 o’clock and sports three hands.

The refined composition provides the backdrop for Alpiner Extreme line’s iconic dial, here sporting a new shade designed especially for this model, with its raised triangular motif done out in an exclusive ice blue. Blending the light, clear hue of meltwater with an added touch of rock grey, the new colour pays homage to Alpina’s original mountain glacier habitat.

Like the hour markers, the hours and minutes hands come with a luminous coating to ensure optimum readability even in the dark; in daylight, one side of each faceted hour marker and each of the three hand-polished hands will always catch the light perfectly. The dial is topped with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal; the mountain adventure watch is water-resistant to 200 metres.

Rarely used in watchmaking, this design showcases Alpina’s expertise in traditional watchmaking finishes: a vertical brushed satin finish on the bezel runs in the same direction as on the three links on the steel bracelet; in a striking contrast, the cushion case sports a circular satin finish, while the edges of the case and bracelet feature brilliant mirror polishing that accentuates the vanishing lines. This palette of finishes embodies the Alpiner Extreme Automatic’s subtle combination of Swiss Made fine watchmaking with the power of a tool watch fit for outdoor exploration.
