Alpina is adding to its Alpiner collection in 2025 with two new variations of the Alpiner Extreme Quartz, one with an ice blue dial and the other sporting a two-tone gold and steel finish. The ultra-compact 34 x 35.20mm format makes these timepieces ideal for summer pursuits, from beach time to hiking via water sports. Featuring a sturdy integrated steel strap and a quartz movement backed by a battery life of nearly four years, this genuine sport-chic adventure watch is the perfect and unfailing companion when exploring new horizons and enjoying more familiar settings.
With its distinctive shape, the Alpiner Extreme barely needs further introduction, being one of the rare Swiss Made timepieces to feature the unusual ‘cushion case’ shape – the ideal compromise between an imposing square and the perfection of a circle. Its graceful yet assertive lines are also remarkable for their finishings, in the finest traditions of watchmaking. The surfaces themselves are all satin-polished to withstand the rigours of everyday wear, while the bevelling is polished to highlight the distinctive profile.
Here, two new colour schemes on the dial express highly complementary style choices. The first is a bright and ultra-contemporary ice blue (one of 2025’s iconic colours), acclaimed by many collectors for its understated yet lively vibe. The second offers a subtle colour combination of gold and steel spanning the bezel and bracelet, also enhanced by an alternating satin and mirror-polished finish and accompanied by a silvered dial. The piece is the embodiment of the sport-chic ethos, making it the perfect choice for dinner in town and outdoor adventures alike.
The almost identical twin pieces share the same 34 x 35.20mm format – and the same Alpina DNA. Both dials feature the embossed logo of the brand, founded back in 1883: a triangle symbolising the alpine summits from which it takes its name. The same motif makes several discreet appearances elsewhere on the externals: on the seconds hand counterweight, the six bezel screw heads, and the solid caseback engraved with the Alpiner collection logo.
Like every Alpiner Extreme model, the two new quartz versions are designed to withstand every kind of challenge. The integrated steel bracelet is secured by a deployment clasp held in place by two pushers. Each timepiece is certified water resistant to 100 metres and comes with a 45-month warranty. Two lugs positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock offer further protection against the bumps and other vagaries of an active everyday lifestyle. At 6 o’clock, a discreet date window nestles amid the hour markers.
A robust design doesn’t have to involve any compromise on elegance, either: as heirs to the style canons of authentic Swiss Made watches, the two new Alpiner Extreme Quartz models boast hand-polished hands, luminous applique hour markers and a non-reflective sapphire crystal, ensuring they can be read effortlessly anywhere, from candlelit dinners to moonlit nights.
