After the successful on water debut at the latest Cannes Yachting Festival 2016 and two important awards received - The World Yachts Trophies 2016 - in the category "Most Innovative Yacht" from 50 to 80 feet – and Boat of the Year 2016 in the motor yacht category - Arcadia Yachts is pleased to reveal all the details about the appreciated new “entry level” Sherpa.
Sherpa, unveiled for the first time last January 2016 during the Boot Dusseldorf, today counts 4 units sold - all in the open deck version - with 3 in Europe and 1 in the United States.
SHERPA is a “forward thinking design yacht” with an overall length of 17,70m and a width/beam of5,60m, even more marked by the concept of "open space" of the aft cockpit to which Arcadia hasaccustomed us since its debut. A compact size able to confirm all of the key factors of bigger yachtsavailable in the range of the yard (internal/external areas and volumes, high-performance efficient hull, minimalist and neat interiors). SHERPA can be perfectly compared to much larger boats (65 ft) for her LWL (16,10m) and beam (5,60m).
The efficient length/width ratio given by the specific NPL hull is another factor that contributes to the unbelievable volumes of the yacht, and, at the same time, it’s certainly a winning factor for potential customers oriented towards yachts of this size.
As usual, Guida Design has been responsible for the design and naval architecture of this innovative model, in collaboration with the technical department of Arcadia Yachts. SHERPA is the natural evolution of Arcadia fleet towards reduced size boats. This amazing small yachtmanages to keep integral in only 58 feet the vision and features that make each Arcadia yacht different fromthe rest of its competitors, having also given to the volumes on board a new concept of distribution, aimed atputting forth areas more used by guests, such as the stern cockpit, the living area, and cabins.
FLEXIBILITY AND LAY-OUT
In the development of Sherpa, one of the major goals has been the achievement of maximum flexibility. Theshipyard offers a variety of arrangements depending on the use, such as day cruiser, shadow boats, supplyvessels for mega-yachts, mini yacht in support to villas overlooking the sea, or simply a day-boat, afisherman, etc. It offers two different superstructure options. Open deck, definitely preferred in the Mediterranean market, and Salon deck, for tropical zones or thoseones very cold, which make greater use of easily air-conditioning areas.
SHERPA also offers many layout options: they have available one-, two-, or three-cabin models. The Open version, with the main deck used mostly as the aft cockpit, offers an area of over 40 square meters completely free, a huge terrace overlooking the sea that can be arranged at the owner's liking with sunbathing areas, sofas, arm chairs, tables, furniture and so on, according to one’s needs of life on board.
SHERPA also lends as a support boat to waterfront villas or mega-yachts, being at the same time anentertaining "party-boat," able to accommodate a surprising number of guests.
If the owner wishes a day-boat, this type of use would suggest the specific Open deck configuration with just one cabin for the owner. Instead, a use for cruises and mini-cruises by an owner with a young family would see the boat internally arranged according to a layout with 2/3 cabins.
Version with one cabin (owner suites) Sherpa comes with a large owner's suite, which includes a living room/lounge zone modular thanks to sliding panels that allow the separation into different areas. It’s also equipped with a large closet and a bathroom with full beam with a beautiful shower.
Version with two cabins. In this version, in addition to the large owner's suite equipped with a significant wardrobe and a full beambathroom with wonderful shower. The second cabin, with two comfortable beds and a practical guestbathroom with a separate shower, consistently offers 2m height. This bathroom has an external access tothe second cabin to allow for its use as day-head for guest during the day.
Version with three cabins. The version with three cabins of the new Arcadia model proposes the owner's double cabin bow, with large bathroom and separate shower. The two guest cabins offer a consistent height of 2m, and have a sharedbathroom accessible from the hallway. Sherpa offers the chance to account for 1 cabin for a possible sailor.
For the Asian market or Tropical climates. Sherpa has also been studied for the Asian market.
In the Salon Deck version, it provides a solution to the great demand of shaded spaces. The veranda can be, in a special version, further stretched. For a use in tropical climates, the Cabin Deck version offers extensive use of air-conditioning not only in the deck area but also in the Flying Bridge/Lounge, extremely flexible thanks to an intelligent use of perimeter windows with electric/power folding.
AN INNOVATIVE AND CONVERTIBLE SPORTS FLYING BRIDGE
Arcadia SHERPA introduces a new concept of sports flying-bridge - "Easy-to-close" - convertible into aclosed platform, completely protected by the side windows that can be raised up to meet the hardtop. Justlike in cars, the upper deck of SHERPA become "convertible." The entire upper deck area, being equippedwith air-conditioning, becomes much more flexible and usable in all weather conditions, in very hot climatesor in bad weather - or left open - as with any traditional flying bridge.
