Linde Werdelin is delighted to announce its third auction featuring a SpidoSpeed Gold piece n°2/100 scheduled to run from September 25th to 27th.

We are very excited about auctioning off the SpidoSpeed Gold. It is one of the pieces we rarely see pre owned, and this watch is in particularly good condition. The SpidoSpeed Gold was launched in Basel 2011 and produced in a limited series of 100 pieces. The case is made entirely in 18kt rose gold and weighs no less than 1/8th of a kilo.

The inspiration of the SpidoLite family is weight reduction for wearing when exploring the mountains. When Morten (Linde) came up with the idea of a skeletonised case, it came from looking at racing cars where every unnecessary element has been removed to reveal only the most essential. While the DNA of the case structure remained intact, superfluous material was removed. The subdials with circular holes as well as hands are similarly inspired by racing cars.

This is watch number 2 of 100, owned since 2013 and presented to us earlier this summer by a valued collector. Given its rarity and excellent condition (lightly polished), we thought it would make a great and unique addition to the LW auction.
