Dacor, a leading American luxury home appliance brand, unveiled today Project Blanc™ – 30-inch porcelain refrigerator and freezer columns – at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) 2018 in Orlando, Florida (booth #W1070). As the world's first 30-inch porcelain built-in solution, the all-new refrigerator and freezer columns reinforce Dacor's legacy of TechCraft by combining radical food preservation innovations with unmatched craftsmanship. The immaculate porcelain cavity of the columns – which elevates purity and durability benchmarks – is fully illuminated by 3DLighting™ Plus and complemented by a variety of cutting-edge technologies.
The Project Blanc 30-inch Porcelain Refrigerator and Freezer Columns are the most sophisticated food preservation tools for luxury consumers. Due to a higher heat capacity than common cooling materials, porcelain minimizes temperature fluctuation. Interior porcelain walls, door liners and drawer fronts ensure temperature consistency, allowing food to retain original textures and flavors longer. An integrated FreshZone™ Drawer features adjustable temperature settings and has the capacity to accommodate fish, meat, chilled drinks and more. At the core of the columns, a dedicated digital inverter compressor powers an ENERGY STAR-qualified cooling system which helps maintain high refrigerator humidity levels or dry freezer conditions.
"With category-reshaping food preservation benefits, porcelain truly pushes the limits of freshness for luxury consumers," said Michael Magnani, Director Product Marketing, Refrigeration, Dacor. "Not only is the strikingly premium material the ideal solution for maintaining temperature consistency and preserving an ultra-hygienic food environment, but porcelain also offers a sleek and durable interior design aesthetic that beautifully complements today's luxury kitchens."
The premium white porcelain interior walls, door liners and drawer fronts not only offer stunningly exquisite aesthetics, but also establishes superior hygienic standards. The ultra-low porous surface prevents contamination, while eliminating odor transfer and discoloration from spills. Durability is also a substantial benefit of porcelain. Crafted from the finest raw minerals, the porcelain interior is glazed with aramid, a highly-durable synthetic fiber used in the aerospace industry. The glazing process allows Dacor's porcelain to become five times stronger than plastic, yielding unparalleled scratch resistance for a new look overtime.
The panel-ready unit accommodates custom wood paneling, or silver or graphite stainless steel panel kits to complement Dacor products in the Modernist or Heritage collections. Full height doors offer true flush cabinet integration allowing the porcelain refrigerator and freezer columns to seamlessly blend into any kitchen design. Whether a handle or handle-free design is chosen, Push-to-Open™ Door gently opens the column doors with a simple tap. Once open, 3DLighting Plus brings the columns to life by fully illuminating the dazzling white porcelain cavity with enhanced back wall LED lighting that gives off an alluring glow. An internal water dispenser serves fresh filtered water, while Dual Icemakers offer traditional and Cocktail Ice™, for an added layer of luxe.
Project Blanc offers a variety of cutting-edge technologies, including the iQ Remote View™, which allows dual-door mounted Wi-Fi-enabled cameras to work in concert with the Dacor iQ Kitchen app. Luxury consumers can access the app on their iOS or Android device while grocery shopping to conveniently peer in on the contents of their refrigerator or freezer.
