Don't List Your Home Yet, Do These Five Things First

Before you list your home, you need to make sure that you are completing all of the right steps. Each of these will be a determining factor in how well your pictures come out, and how well your home does on the market. Of course, you want your home to do well, and you want to sell it as fast as you can, for the best possible price, which is why these steps are important.

Declutter

The first step is to declutter your home. For those of you who just hid your face behind your hands because that’s the last thing you want to do, we know. But, it’s necessary for moving anyway so you may as well get started now. As you’ve made the decision to move, you should be sorting out one room at a time, decluttering it so that you’re not packing a load of junk that you don’t want to take with you to your new place anyway.

If you know that this is something you’re going to struggle with, we strongly recommend working out a system you can use going through this process. The common one is that if it has no sentimental value, no monetary value, and no use to you, then you don’t need it anymore.

 

Deep Clean

When you’ve decluttered, you can now start deep cleaning. Make sure that the property is sparkling by the time you’re done, getting in all of those pain in the behind areas because that’s what potential buyers are going to be looking for. When they view your property, they want to see a clean, tidy space that they can imagine being theirs. They don’t want to see dirt and grime throughout the place.

 

Choose A Realtor 

Selling your home is a complex process, and you’re going to need some help with this. The traditional approach is to get in touch with a realtor, choose them to help you sell your current home and find your next, and support you through everything else during the process. It’s a lot, but that’s why a fantastic realtor can really make all of the difference.

Find Your New Home

Of course, you’re going to need to find a new property to live in. You can’t just sell your home and have nowhere to live! Start your search early, and you will hopefully be able to find somewhere fantastic sooner rather than later.

 

Sign On The Dotted Line

Finally, before you sell your home you will need to find a decent solicitor to sign and handle all of your paperwork. Without a solicitor you won’t be able to buy a new place or sell your existing one. Make sure you check reviews before signing up with one, the last thing you want is to slow the process down.
