In recent years, more and more businesses have moved towards hybrid working models. This shift away from traditional office spaces has opened up opportunities for employees to work remotely, either from home or abroad.

instantprint conducted a study on 2,000 UK employees about what they would (or would not) find beneficial about a workcation. A whopping 47% said they would love to work remotely if their employer allowed it.

More Businesses are Shifting to Hybrid Working

The rise of digital communication has made it easier than ever for businesses to allow their employees to work remotely. With digital tools like Slack and Zoom, teams can collaborate on projects in real time, regardless of their physical location. This shift from traditional offices has allowed many businesses to reduce overhead costs while maintaining high productivity levels.

General Wellbeing

One of the biggest advantages of remote working is the ability for employees to customise their own working environment. Flyer and leaflet printer, instantprint, found that the opportunity for a workcation could benefit 40% of respondents.                                            

Working from home allows employees to create a space tailored to their individual needs, leading to increased focus and productivity. Additionally, remote working gives employees more flexibility in terms of when and where they work, which can lead to improved mental health and general well-being.

Cost Of Living Differs Between Countries

If you're considering taking a job abroad or relocating your business overseas, you'll need to consider the cost of living in that country compared with your current location. In the UK, the average cost of living sits around £2,005 a month for one worker - so it’s no surprise that 27% of those living in more expensive locations would like to live somewhere with a lower cost of living.

 Some countries may offer lower taxes or less expensive cost structures than others, allowing remote workers to save money abroad. So, it's important to research before making any decisions about relocating your business or taking a job abroad.

Productivity

Despite having access to all the necessary technology, some people find it challenging to stay focused when they're not in an office environment. Additionally, without a supervisor present or colleagues nearby, some people feel unmotivated and lack discipline when it comes to completing tasks on time. That said, with proper planning and organisation, it is possible for people who work remotely (whether from home or abroad) to remain productive and achieve great results.

instantprint’s survey respondents also thought fondly of workers having the luxury of being able to work from an abroad location (47%). Working remotely from another country allows you to explore new cultures while still getting paid. Whether you choose an extended vacation or short trips throughout the year, experiencing different cultures can be a fun and educational experience. On top of that, many cities worldwide have vibrant start-up communities, making them ideal locations for entrepreneurs seeking new ideas & inspiration.

Remote working offers many advantages over traditional office-based employment, including increased flexibility and better well-being, as well as being able to travel while still earning money.
