On the occasion of the European Cricket Championship 2022 kick off in Spain on September 12th, through to October 14th, Frederique Constant is delighted to announce its new partnership as Official Timekeeper of the European Cricket Championship (ECC) and all European Cricket Series (ECS) events in 2022. A collaboration centred around tradition, passion, and perseverance, Frederique Constant’s core values since its foundation in 1988.

Probably the world's most popular game involving hitting a ball with a hand-held implement, the earliest reference to cricket was in South East England in the mid-16th century. The sport was followed primarily in South Asia, Australasia, the United Kingdom, Southern Africa, and the West Indies, to become an international sport.

A team sport played between two teams of eleven players each, cricket is a bat-and-ball game played on a roughly oval grass field, in the centre of which is a flat strip of ground 20.12 m (22 yards) long, called a pitch.

Two universes driven by tradition and passion

From September 12th to October 14th, in Malaga, Spain, 21 national teams will compete in 120 matches over 5 weeks of the European Cricket Championship 2022, that will be broadcast live worldwide via select broadcast partners and is expected to be seen by over 40 million viewers daily. As a new partner of the competition, Frederique Constant is delighted to announce its participation as Official Timekeeper of the European Cricket Championship (ECC) and all European Cricket Series (ECS) events for the year 2022.

“Frederique Constant is very proud to become the Official Timekeeper of the European Cricket Championship (ECC) and all European Cricket Series (ECS) events for this year.  Cricket is a very traditional Gentlemen Sport and as a classical and traditional Swiss watch brand, Frederique Constant fits perfectly into this association” says Yasmina Pedrini, Global Communications Director of Frederique Constant.

A Swiss watchmaking brand, Frederique Constant, founded in 1988 with its headquarters and Manufacture in Geneva Switzerland, sees European Cricket tournaments as the perfect match to share its fundamental values with the tradition and culture of Cricket globally.

Both batting and bowling require a lot of patience, perseverance, guts, and a huge amount of skills, as well as Frederique Constant’s watchmakers who painstakingly craft high-end timepieces within the Manufacture’s workshops. But most importantly, the driving force behind these two traditional know-hows: passion.

“Timekeeping is an important factor in sports and European Cricket is proud to announce the collaboration with Frederique Constant for all European Cricket events. The world-wide presence of European Cricket secures for Frederique Constant to penetrate the markets with its quality brand and allow the Cricket community and Frederique Constant to benefit from such partnership”, underlines Roger Feiner, CEO of European Cricket.
