With the current situation we are facing now, there’s pretty much nothing we can do but to stay at home at all times. If we are getting frustrated with the problem, so are the kids. You may be struggling to think of ways on how to keep them active every day.
If you run out of ideas, then here are some activities that you can do with your kids together.
Basketball? Soccer? Whatever their favourite sport may be, go and play with them as often as possible. Children appreciate it when you join them in something they want. It’s better to see them physically active, rather than watching TV or facing their gadgets all day.
Kids are very curious, and they love to explore. Involving them in the kitchen is one way to make the home quarantine days exciting for them. You can ask them to join you in baking cookies or cooking simple dishes. Kids would love this idea, especially if the food you bake or cook together turns out great.
No matter how busy your day is, make it a habit to spend a little of your time with them every day. Sit down on the couch and join them while they play with their favourite toys. By doing this, you are making them feel that you are interested in what they love, and that makes everything extra special for them. To brighten up their day, you can also get them new toys once in a while. Pick something that they don’t currently have, which will add to their collection, be it a Barbie doll or Playmobil City Life.
Another fun thing to do at home with your kids is to play an obstacle course. Use whatever you have at home when setting up. By simply using blankets, pillows, and furniture, you’re good to go. There is no way kids wouldn’t love this idea. They love adventures, that’s why you can be sure that they will have a good time playing this kind of game.
How we wish that things will go back to normal with just a snap. We are all tired and exhausted from the situation, and we have been struggling to keep up. During these times, our patience is tested, and our creativity comes out for our desire to help our kids to adapt to the situation. Thanks to modern technology, we have unlimited access to the Internet, where kids can watch videos. However, we should limit their screen time and make them move to keep them physically healthy.
Staying at home may be a tough situation for all of us, but let us also look at the bright side. We are able to spend more time with our family, play with our kids, and learned to value what we have.
