There are moments—rare ones—when watchmaking seems to vibrate with electricity. When engineering flirts with philosophy. When design stops mimicking the past and begins bending the future. Enter Helix by Hautlence. An independent timepiece, born in Schaffhausen, sculpted with the boldness of those who have nothing to prove—except their freedom. This is not a watch. It’s a statement. Architecture in motion.
Let’s start with the shape: HAUTLENCE introduces a new rectangular case. Small, sharper. Machined from lightweight titanium, it speaks a language of refined brutalism—uncompromising, assertive, and monumental. A wrist-worn monolith.
And it’s not only about presence. It’s about performance. Sitting atop this rectangular case, water-resistant to 10 ATM, is a domed sapphire crystal that adds a note of softness — a curvature so pure, so precise, it bends light to its will. Crafting such a crystal is a technical madness, but the reward is worth it: it draws all eyes inward, magnifying the heart of the watch like a lens focused on a revolution: its central cylindrical tourbillon.
More than a watch, Helix is a vision. A manifesto in motion. The cylindrical tourbillon isn’t just centered; it is the center, the conceptual core. Spiraling like DNA, it becomes a kinetic sculpture, adding a third dimension to reimagine the tourbillon.
Flanking this tourbillon are two retrograde displays, for hours and minutes, that perform their choreography with crisp, deliberate precision.
At the heart of the Helix Series 1 ticks the D51 automatic calibre. Designed, developed, and manufactured entirely in-house, it features a micro-rotor that allows for balanced, compact proportions without compromising performance. This movement includes 235 components, beats at a frequency of 3 hertz, and offers a 65-hour power reserve.
Since its beginnings, HAUTLENCE has never liked repetition. Born in Neuchâtel, now based in Schaffhausen, the brand has always walked the line between mechanical obsession and raw aesthetic power. The Helix follows this path: it doesn’t just measure time, it redefines it.
This is not a watch for timid collectors.
It’s for those who see time not as a circle, but as a spiral—because each moment rises, evolves, and never repeats.
