Le Chateau, a longtime Westchester County landmark, has been purchased by Elegant Banquets LLC of Brookfield, CT and will be completely renovated, expanded and re-opened exclusively for private events in the fall of 2017.

Le Chateau was commissioned by J.P. Morgan in 1907 as a gift for his pastor and friend, the Rev. William S. Rainsford. Originally called Savin Rock, the country retreat was designed by Atterbury & Atterbury, prominent architects of the day.

Elegant Banquets will invest more than $10M in a comprehensive facility update and expansion befitting the property's grand legacy. The venue's lobby and cocktail spaces will preserve the history of the mansion, with every antique detail and surface inspected and refreshed. To inject a modern New Yorksensibility to the property, Elegant Banquets has enlisted preeminent designer KG+D Architects. The result will be a mindfully designed venue, where guests can experience the romance of the past in authentic spaces, without compromise.

According to Sarah Schiller, the newly appointed Sales Director for Le Chateau, "There is no other property in this area where you can experience the beauty and history of an estate like Le Chateau, which has the modern updates of a brand new facility, all in a completely private setting. It is truly a one-of-a-kind destination for weddings and other special events. I am honored to have the opportunity to share this venue with clients."

Le Chateau will reopen in the fall of 2017 exclusively for private events.
