We are proud to announce that the Outer Reef 780 Adventure is cruising and is close to completing her maiden voyage—a remarkable 2,300+ nautical mile shakedown cruise from our Dutch shipyard to La Napoule, France, where she will be based at the Outer Reef Yachts office and available for viewing until the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.

This journey has been nothing short of exceptional. After a brief time commissioning in the Netherlands, the yacht departed with the shipyard team on board and has since cruised non-stop—day and night—with zero issues reported over 2,300+ miles. That level of performance is a true testament to Dutch quality and engineering.

Our President and CEO, Jeff Druek, and Trevor De Faoite, Managing Director of Outer Reef Europe, joined the voyage in Gibraltar, continued through to Palma, Spain, and is currently enroute to La Napoule. Throughout the journey, they’ve rigorously tested every onboard system—from fuel consumption and sound levels to handling and seakeeping. Here are a few highlights:

EXCEPTIONAL SEAKEEPING: Sound readings are well below average, making for a remarkably peaceful experience on board.
QUIET OPERATION: The yacht exceeds CFD predictions, with an eco-cruising fuel burn of just 18.6 liters/hour (5 USG/hour)—providing a range of over 5,000 nautical miles. This efficiency is thanks to her fast displacement hull, which outperforms traditional full-displacement designs.
PERFORMANCE: Whether navigating head seas or open waters, the 780 Adventure delivers a smooth, stable ride with no slamming—only confident performance.
SPACIOUS COMFORT: Cabin and living spaces feel surprisingly expansive — rivaling those of much larger vessels. Every area, including showers and staterooms, reflects thoughtful design and volume optimization.
