From 5th to 10th September, at Rho-Fiera Milano, Mandelli1953 participated in the Supersalone, with an exhibition aimed at expressing and conveying the company philosophy, that results in the continuous search for a handle with excellent technical characteristics and high aesthetic value. The space, within Hall 02 - Aisle O35, featured a selection of seven iconic handles designed by as many contemporary and past designers, able to interpret the company design dynamism and desire for experimentation.
The value of made in Italy, the use of special materials, the study of new forms, the uniqueness of solutions dedicated to the world of home décor: all these elements
characterise the products chosen for the Supersalone, confirming Mandelli1953 as protagonist of the international scene of design. The exhibition illustrated the sensitivity of the company towards the world of design and furniture, and its ability to create products with a high technical and aesthetic content.
From the “Archivi” collection, dedicated to reinterpretations of historical projects: PP33 handle, the exclusive re-edition of a handle designed in 1933 by the famous Italian architect and urban planner Piero Portaluppi, and MM80 handle signed by Marcello Morandini, one of the main representatives of Concrete Art in Europe, awarded this year with the Red Dot Award in the Product Design 2021category.
The exhibition continues with two other handles with a contemporary and rigorous soul. The Seven model, born in collaboration with Marco Piva, with its apparent formal simplicity, is the result of a careful technical research, that focuses on the ergonomic aspect.
The 40+Uno handle is combined with the Eclisse 40 door frame collection, a real piece of furniture signed by the designers Lorenzo Ponzelli and Francesco Valentini.
Designed by Giuseppe Bavuso, for Erco Dry window frames collection, the Ares model, a perfect synthesis of elegance, style and functionality, became part of Mandelli1953 catalogue.
The desire to explore ideas and styles from distant cultures leads Mandelli1953 to the collaboration with the duo of Chinese architects Weichih Chen & Fuhua Wang from WA+CH studio. From this union, Frame was born, drawing inspiration from the classical canons of mid-century Oriental decoration.
The experimentation carried out by Mandelli1953 and the desire to use unconventional materials in the creation of handles, came together with the designer Alessandro Dubini in the creation of Juno, the first concrete handle with a clean and minimal design. With Juno, the company was awarded the Good Design Award 2017 recognition.
