Palmetto Health Allows Patients to Heal in the Lap of Luxury at Healing Waters

Healing Waters, a leading spa, aesthetics, wellness and plastic surgery clinic, has partnered with Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge to help restore wellness and self esteem in guests and patients both inside and out. The partnership is meant to bridge the gap between healthcare and recovery, while providing a competitive edge.

Hospitals are facing substantial losses to their traditional revenue streams due to anticipated cuts in Medicare and Medicaid, making diversifying their services an immediate necessity. In addition, the Affordable Healthcare Act will enable approximately 25 million Americans to retain insurance by 2016, creating a flood in the market of potential patients. In order to create a point of differentiation, Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge, a leading healthcare system of the northeast region, partnered with Healing Waters to create a new standard of caring for guests and patients within their community.

Patients are given the opportunity to receive additional care and nurturing during their stay with traditional spa treatments such as massage therapy, anti-aging Pure MD® facials, and Healing Waters body rituals. Other services, such as medical aesthetic procedures, will include Botox and dermal fillers, reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery, and wellness activities. Healing the mind and soul is a vital step in the recovery process, yet most hospitals are not addressing that need. By taking this extra step, Healing Waters allows patients to create a continuity of restoration and advanced healing, while increasing patient satisfaction.

The 6,931-square-foot spa will offer services to guests in the community and complimentary services to patients being treated at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge in Columbia. New mothers will receive a 30-minute massage and facial refresher within their patient room after delivery. All inpatients within the hospital will receive a hand or foot massage daily during their hospital stay. This is the first of many such spa/hospital partnerships that Healing Waters anticipates creating in order to provide luxury medical care to the public.
