Sports company PUMA and watch company Fossil Group have launched a new, limited-edition watch collection. The RESET collection for Summer 2019 comes into stores with just 448 units available per style – a nod to PUMA's founding year 1948 – and features a men's and women's option, infusing 1990s nostalgia with a modern twist of today's materials and a bold color palette.
A spin on the classic black watch, the men's style features vibrant color blocking with a speckled printed silicone band, harkening back to the rise of sports footwear, urban street style, the reinvention of music festivals and summer vibes.
A distinct and intentional color palette of pink and black, which ties back to PUMA's #DOYOU campaign – a movement that celebrates badass women and bold, unapologetic style – can be seen in the women's watch.
"The RESET collection marks change – a change for PUMA by teaming up with licensee Fossil Group and a change for Fossil Group to reach a new, younger generation of hustlers," said Daniela Molin, General Manager BU Accessories. "A reset requires a mindset of reinvention, while taking inspiration from past and present to create a new version of oneself. With that in mind, this collection is largely inspired by the 90s, but includes a reset of modern material mixes and bold color palettes."
The collection includes the following features:
Form fitting comfort: The multi-layer construction of the watch case features a flexible polyurethane jacket on top of a poly carbonate case core. This allows the watch to naturally mold to the shape of the wrist for comfortable, all-day wear.
Removable, pull-through silicone straps: The soft silicone straps not only minimize sweat and slipping on the wrist, but also feature the PUMA sneakers' iconic hexagon pattern on the back. Additional straps will launch later this spring.
PUMA's iconic "FOT" shape: The indexes, logo platform, lug cut out and strap tip are a nod to the brand's iconic FOT shape, which started as PUMA's functional solution for reducing strain on the Achilles tendon and became a signature detail on the heel of PUMA footwear.
Just in time for Summer 2019, the PUMA limited-edition collection is available online from today on PUMA.com in Europe, Watchstation.com in North America and Zozo.com in Japan. The styles retail at $100/€99/14040 YEN.
Last year, Fossil Group, Inc. and PUMA signed a global license partnership agreement for the design, development and distribution of PUMA watches and smartwatches through 2028. Additional styles will drop later this season.
