We accomplish many things in our careers, and we’ve worked hard to get to where we are today. So, it’s time to celebrate these achievements, whether it’s a promotion, a successful project or a great review from your peers.

If you’ve recently passed a work milestone, waste no time in celebrating and make sure to have plenty of fun whilst doing so. By treating yourself to a little something, you’ll be more motivated to work hard the next time a milestone is within reach.

Celebrate right away

Life moves fast. Don’t let a major work milestone pass you by and celebrate it whilst the iron’s hot! If you leave it too late, your focus will have changed (perhaps even to your next set of career goals) and it might feel like the moment has passed and you no longer want to mark it.

That’s why you should celebrate it right away without talking yourself out of it!

Throw a party

Any excuse for a party, right? And accomplishing something major at work is a great reason to have a bash with all your friends, family, loved ones and even colleagues. Do something nice and relaxed like a lunch or BBQ at yours; this way it’s less formal and everyone can bring a dish if you don’t want to do all the cooking.

Alternatively, get everyone together at a restaurant and toast your achievement there. You might be inviting a fair few people, so make sure to let the restaurant know in advance.

Treat yourself to a little something

Nothing marks a significant moment like a little gift to yourself that you’ll treasure forever. Splash out on a beautiful luxury watch that will remind you of your achievement whenever you twist your wrist to look at the time. Not only are luxury watches an incredible feat of human craftsmanship and innovation, they’re also great family heirlooms that you can pass on to future generations.

Get a whole new wardrobe

If your work milestone involves a promotion or a position of higher responsibility, you need to look the part! Why not yourself to a whole new wardrobe, focussing on collecting smarter pieces that will make you look just the part for your new role?

And there’s nothing stopping you going astray of work clothes. Perhaps there’s been a designer handbag you’ve been eyeing for a while. Perhaps it’s a gorgeous pair of new shoes. Whatever it is, you’ve earned it.

Go on holiday

If you’ve been working particularly hard to reach this career milestone, take this as your cue to go on holiday! Hit pause and refresh your mind and body before you start again. You’ll be more motivated than ever when you go back.
