Let’s face it, if you can afford to spend big money experiencing the most amazing adventures in the real world, then you’re probably also spending vast sums of cash on your virtual escapades. For many, gaming is an unbeatable hobby filled with worthwhile investments to make, especially when assessing the variety of accessories that have come to the fore over the years.

Alongside the expensive console machines gamers snap up, there are always costly must-have extras that promise to elevate the gaming package on offer. Despite costing an arm and a leg, many players adopt these various forms of gaming technology as they strive to enhance the overall experience available. Whether you’re a PC player who samples McLuck’s online games like J Mania Maniac or you prefer smartphone gaming thanks to releases like Among Us, there have always been some expensive add-ons to add to your wish list.

With all that in mind, below we highlight some of the most expensive gaming accessories ever made. From some of yesteryear’s biggest rip-offs to today’s dear but worthwhile purchases, gaming certainly can be expensive if you want the very best products. As some of the featured items below will suggest, though, not every accessory is necessarily for you. Still, it’s amazing how pricey it can be.

VRX Mach 4 Racing Simulator - $24,999

Racing simulators have always been popular, largely because petrol heads and gamers alike want to play the most realistic racing products out there. It probably went a bit too far with the VRX Mach 4 Racing Simulator, though. While it delivered, it wasn’t affordable for all due to its frankly ridiculous price of $24,999. These days, it’s so expensive that it’s now used by aspiring professionals in motorsport, although it doesn’t completely mirror the real thing.

Optimus Maximus Gaming Keyboard - $1,700

Gaming keyboard aren’t always a bargain, but spending $1,700 on one isn’t the norm. The Optimus Maximus Gaming Keyboard claimed to be so special that some gamers couldn’t resist snapping one up, though. For PC gamers, the promise of the best tactile feedback ever seen was tough to ignore and, to be fair, it lived up the hype.

Xbox 360 Gold Faceplate - $36,000

It’s fairly common for gamers to customize their controllers. However, the Xbox 360 went a step further by offering customers a unique faceplate to make their beloved controllers stand out. While it was a step too far for many avid Xbox gamers, the Xbox 360 gold faceplate still appealed to many gamers despite its high price of $36,000 at the time of its release. While it certainly isn’t for everyone, many Xbox players clearly rated it.

World's Largest Pac-Man - $11,000

Pac-Man is a game millions of people grew up with. Given its popularity, it probably comes as no surprise to learn that the world’s largest game of Pac-Man went for a staggering $11,000. You can actually still purchase it today, although this absolutely massive version of the game probably won’t fit in everyone’s home. It is great, though.

Hori Mini Pad Controller - $2,999

Alongside the customizable controllers players adore, such as the aforementioned Xbox 360 gold faceplate, there are some classic controllers that are making a comeback. They aren’t cheap, though. The Hori Mini Pad controller is one of them, costing just under $3,000 at the time of writing. Not only does it look different, but it’s associated with the Nintendo 64, a console gamers everywhere fondly remember.

Special mention must also go to the Super Game Boy ($1,599), the Logitech G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel ($590), and Resident Evil 6, Premium Edition ($1,338).
