The world’s greatest architects can provide the perfect amalgamation of art and design, creating exquisite buildings that demand to be experienced. There are so many beautiful modern buildings constructed every year, but none can be more inspiring than the designs created by the following gifted architects.

Peter Marino

Fashion and architecture are both deemed as an art, yet Peter Marino manages to bring the two together to create truly unique work that defies imagination. Thanks to his use of space, material and style, he has become the go-to interior designer for luxury brands, developing artistic works of architecture that cannot be replicated.

In fact, you could easily have been exposed to Peter Marino and not even know it, as he has developed artistic architecture for high-end designers, such as Dior, Chanel and Louis Vuitton, which you can experience in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London, Munich, Tokyo and Singapore.

Bjarke Ingels

Bjarke Ingels is a Danish architect who has defied traditional architectural dimensions and designs, creating jaw-dropping developments that are designed to work in harmony with their surroundings, with sloped linings that are unparalleled to any other architectural designs. Some of his most notable architectural designs include the West 57 apartments in Manhattan, New York, and the zero-emission resort in Azerbaijan, which is regarded as one of the world’s largest eco-developments.

David Childs

David Childs is one of America’s most forward-thinking architects, and is responsible for some of the nation’s most exquisite buildings, including Washington’s Four Seasons Hotel, the Worldwide Plaza, Time Warner Center and the National Geographic headquarters. However, David Childs is quite possibly most famous for being the architect behind the beautiful One World Trade Center in lower Manhattan, which has the colloquial name of the Freedom Tower.

Like many great architects, David Childs offers an architectural style that is only synonymous with his own creations, and he continues to offer beautiful designs to this day, including the upcoming renovation of the Lever House 390 Park Avenue.

Renzo Piano

Renzo Piano has created some of the most inspiring architectural designs on the planet, and was therefore ranked by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, and ranked 10th most influential person in the Arts and Entertainment category.

The Italian architect initially worked alongside other architects at the start of his career, before going solo to design some of the most awe-inspiring designs on the planet, including The New York Times Building, Kansai International Airport in Osaka and the Nemo Science Centre in Amsterdam.

However, he will most recently be known to many for his design of The Shard in London, which is the tallest skyscraper in the European Union. The Shard has quickly become a landmark in the capital city, and the building was designed to appear like a spire-like structure emerging from the River Thames, and was inspired by the masts of sailing ships. Renzo is also believed to have taken inspiration from the nearby railway lines.
