With its high-gloss stainless steel case, stepped dial, and racing-inspired numerals, the Type One captures the essence of motoring heritage while adding a modern touch. A bold red minute hand nods to the adrenaline of vintage racing, while the sapphire crystal caseback reveals the precision Swiss automatic movement inside.

A PASSION PROJECT YEARS IN THE MAKING

For founder Diederik van Golen, Volan is the result of a lifelong passion for watches, classic cars, and yachting. His journey began during his university years when he discovered a vintage tyre watch, a timepiece that combined two of his greatest interests. The idea of reviving this forgotten design never left him. After working in the yachting industry and successfully launching and selling a previous watch brand, the passion to create something truly special remained. Volan Watches was born to bring back an icon, blending classic aesthetics with the spirit of adventure.

The Volan Type One is built for performance, featuring:

  • Swiss Calibre Sellita SW200 Automatic Movement
  • 316L Stainless Steel Case with a protective rubber tyre or vintage teak and birch wood (58 x 13 mm)
  • Domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal (front and back)
  • Water-resistant to 5 ATM (50 meters)


AVAILABILITY

The Volan Type One is available through the Volan Watches website, retailing at €785 (excl. VAT) / €950 (incl. 21% VAT). Production started and delivery is before this Christmas 2025.
