What to Wear to Sleep Comfortably

As a child we spend a lot of our time trying to negotiate staying up late ratchet than going to bed. We use every trick in the book to be allowed to stay up and not have to go to sleep but as we get older and start to appreciate the value of a good night’s sleep, we do all that we can to sleep comfortably. A big part of sleeping comfortably, however, is in what we wear and how we wear it.

You might think that the most comfortable thing to do is to sleep naked, but it really isn't always the best option. If you want to be a healthy sleeper, then looking at sleep hygiene is important - and this is so much more than just brushing your teeth! It’s about shopping for the Natori sleep dress and knowing you are making the right decision for luxurious comfort. You should think about the sleep habits that you put in place now to ensure that your sleep is the best it can be. So, with that in mind, here’s what to wear to bed to sleep well.

  • Something cool. No matter how many blankets your bed has, you need to make sure that the clothing you’re wearing to bed is as cool as possible. We’re talking open weaves or cotton items that are breathable. You want to be the right temperature and that will prevent you from sweating in the bed through the night.

  • Something comfortable. If you find loose trousers tangle you up, you’re not alone. Most people can’t wear loose clothing to bed because of the fact they get wrapped up in blankets and their pajamas at the same time. If you wear loose clothing, swap into something more fitting but comfortable at bedtime so that you can avoid being tangled in the blankets.

  • Something you love. Are you comfortable in a vest and shorts or do nightdresses give you what you need in terms of comfort? Wearing the fabric you love is important when it comes to sleeping comfortably. Determining this takes a little time but once you figure it out you’ll find that you are able to be more comfortable in your sleepwear.

  • Accessorize. You can accessorize your sleepwear with slippers for when you’re walking around the house, and a dressing gown to wear over your pajamas and stay warm before you get into bed. You want to make sure that these are breathable and comfortable, too, so that you are able to move around with ease.

Your sleep hygiene matters and it’s super easy to get it right when you consider your own comfort in advance. Shop around and try different pajama options before you make a decision about what’s best for your comfort. Your sleep should be something you’re rested from and it’s easier when your pajamas are comfortable and breathable. Sleepwear shopping should be fun so go forth and spend!
