A yacht concept designed for family exploration and fractional ownership
The project builds on the extensive experience gained during the refits of M/Y Zulu (36m) and M/Y Lady Jade (41m), yachts used by family owners for extended periods. The choice of generous internal and external volumes reflects a careful study of how families live and interact with space onboard, eliminating the typical sense of confinement associated with low-volume yachts.
X-BRYCE represents the natural evolution of over two decades of experience by Pastrovich Studio in the design and refit of exploration vessels. The owners who inspired the project are modern explorers: not driven by trends, but deeply committed to living the sea authentically and connecting with the spaces around them.
The 39–43 meter version is designed for families seeking to optimize the balance between volume, construction cost, and operational efficiency, while the 47 meter version responds to the emerging “fractional ownership program”, designed for owners wishing to share ownership and management with other families, significantly reducing acquisition and operating costs, and offering up to 10 double cabins for 20 guests, with spacious lounges and dining areas from bow to stern.
Design Philosophy
X-BRYCE is the result of a synthesis between design research, hands-on experience, and a close relationship with the owner. Architect and yacht designer Stefano Pastrovich developed the concept in constant dialogue with those living aboard, implementing modifications, layout adjustments, and innovative solutions based on real-life experience.
The result is a concept that engages all five senses and offers an authentic perception of space, where light, materials, volumes, and fluidity between interior and exterior are carefully orchestrated to create an immersive, comfortable, and highly personal experience.
This is the reason behind the project name X-BRYCE: “Bryce Canyon is one of the most intense places I have explored in the world,” says Arch. Pastrovich. “I wanted to capture that sense of freedom and vastness and translate it into a design capable of offering the same experience at sea.”
Construction & Performance
The aluminum superstructure and steel hull ensure strength, stability, and absolute safety even during long and challenging voyages.
With a length of 39 meters, a beam of 8.6 meters at the waterline and 9.6 meters at the main deck, and a draft of 2.4 meters, X-BRYCE achieves a gross tonnage of approximately 460 GT.
The concept prioritizes efficiency, comfort, and seakeeping over pure speed. With engines ranging from 800 to 1000 hp, the maximum speed reaches 14 knots, with cruising range optimized for long passages and fuel efficiency carefully considered.
Layout & Interior
The interiors are conceived as a loft on the sea, a fluid and customizable space. In the typical design approach of Arch. Pastrovich, the furniture consists of movable elements, allowing the owner to adapt the layout according to personal habits with millimeter precision.
This approach transforms the interior into a natural extension of the owner’s lifestyle, a living space that evolves over time, perfectly suited for those spending extended periods on board.
Market Position
X-BRYCE offers a new alternative in the 39–47 meter range, combining generous volumes, solid construction, and contemporary style.
