Lincoln has been famous for being America’s premier luxury automaker for decades, and the innovative features found in today’s sport utility vehicles honour their legacy while adding a splash of modern pizazz.

Lincoln is also famous for making their vehicles large, and for indulging their drivers and passengers as much as possible. Between the commitment to luxury, style, and incorporating new advanced technology to make driving safer and more entertaining, there’s a lot to see in today’s Lincoln SUVs.

Lincoln Co-Pilot360

Many of the new Lincoln vehicles — such as the Aviator, Corsair, and Nautilus — come with a suite of advanced safety features utilizing radars and cameras to improve safety for drivers, passengers, and everyone else on the road. Check out www.ColonyLincoln.ca to see a vast range of brand new Lincolns as well used models from recent years, or keep reading below to see how a few of the Lincoln Co-Pilot360 features work.

Evasive Steering Assist uses cameras and sensors working together to help offer steering assistance: the vehicle itself can detect if a collision may be imminent, and if there is it can apply the brakes automatically, helping you steer safely around the obstacle.

The Reverse Brake Assist helps drivers make a confident and safe stop if they need to suddenly halt the car while it’s in reverse. Backing out of a parking spot or your driveway will be easier and safer for everybody.

Have you ever found the perfect parking spot right in front of where you need to be, only it was kind of small, and you felt anxious trying to back in perfectly with so many people around watching? With Active Park Assist Plus, all you need to do is hold down a button in parallel or reverse perpendicular parking situations.

The driver no longer needs to control braking, steering, acceleration, turning or shifting. Just put the vehicle in neutral and press the park assist button, and once you’re in the spot, put it into park. This is the first time such a feature has ever been offered by Lincoln — a sign they’re moving with the times, or possibly moving the times themselves.

Head-Up Display

You’ll never have to take your eyes off the road again to learn standard driving information with Head-Up Display. Simply select what information you’d like to easily see, and it can be projected right onto the inside of the windshield.

From basic metrics like your speed and fuel supply to information pertaining to the available Adaptive Cruise Control settings, Lane-Keeping System, and more. The display is visible in ambient lighting conditions, even when the driver is wearing sunglasses with polarized lenses. You’ll always have the information you need at your fingertips, and you’ll never have to strain for it.

The Lincoln Co-Pilot360 is meant to simplify driving and help drivers feel more confident behind the wheel, but it’s not intended to be a replacement for keeping the driver’s attention focused on the road. Still, you’ll love how much control you have over your vehicle, and the reduced stress you feel when navigating through busy downtowns or crowded spaces.

Phone as Key

The technology of the modern world runs through the smartphone, and it even connects to your vehicle. When you download the Lincoln Way app, your phone can be programmed to work as a key for your Lincoln Aviator via Bluetooth connection.

You’ll be able to even turn the vehicle on and off through your phone, too. You’ll be able to leave your fob at home — in the event your phone runs out of battery, you can type in a backup codes to gain access to the vehicle, and turn on the engine.

Sync3 AppLink

Make the apps you love on your phone truly connected with your Lincoln Aviator, with voice commands which can launch and control them. The apps can also be accessed in the organized SYNC-enabled apps section, or automatically load them from your smartphone once it is paired or tethered.

Using your phone while driving to listen to music, navigate, or keep in touch with people via email, text message or phone calls will always be safe, easy, and comfortable. Even beloved third-party apps like Waze which help drivers outsmart traffic by getting updates on routes in real time are extremely intuitive to use while behind the wheel, either through your touchscreen or by voice command.

4G LTE Wi-Fi

Now, the vehicle itself will act as its own modem. You and your passengers can connect up to 10 devices to the internet using the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot within 50 feet of your vehicle.

This will make long drives feel short, as access to internet won’t cost anybody any data from their plan. Everyone can stream video content, read the news or hear their favourite podcast.

Aside from entertainment, having your own in-vehicle modem can really come in handy when you’re in a far-flung region and need to get internet access to find the nearest gas station, or if you’re having car trouble.

Different Drives Modes

How do you feel like driving today? Depending on the terrain or the road conditions, you may need something a little different from your vehicle — when you drive a Lincoln, adjustments are easy.

All you need to do is turn a knob in the centre front console to gain control over the settings, steering, shift points, and even ride heights — the available Air Glide Suspension helps drivers get the performance they need.

There are five main drive modes, while the Aviator Grand Touring function has two additional modes. Pure EV gives drivers a quiet all-electric drive, and Preserve EV to save stored energy so it can be used later.

Lincoln has taken its reputation for luxury to new heights by adding a slew of technology throughout the vehicle to make driving safe, fun, and easy. Whether you need it for long road trips to the country or short jaunts to the grocery store, you’ll always be in sumptuous style and modern comfort when you drive one of the latest Lincoln SUVs.
