Couple Launches As First Luxury Lab-Grown Diamond Ring Brand

Couple, the first luxury lab-grown diamond ring brand, launched today online at www.couple.co. The New York City-based startup aims to simplify the engagement ring buying process by offering one exceptional quality of diamond and a curated selection of timeless ring designs. Couple offers its customers 30% more diamond for the same price as mined equivalents.

"Couple is revolutionizing the online experience by replacing the noisy mined diamond marketplace with a simple and refined approach," said Couple co-founder, Jeff Brenner. "Our experts have identified one optimal diamond, cut, color and clarity. Since we are cutting out the middlemen, we are able to offer this luxury product at a significantly lower price, without the negative environmental and social impacts often associated with mined diamonds."

Brenner conceptualized Couple as a result of his own frustrating, firsthand experience navigating the engagement ring market in 2017. It was when he joined forces with Couple co-founder Alan Shusterthat the duo saw firsthand the opaque nuances of the mined diamond cartel and committed themselves to offering an ethical, transparent solution to engagement ring shopping. After discovering a US-based lab making big strides in lab-grown diamonds, Brenner and Shuster knew they were on to a better diamond business practice.

"There are a number of misconceptions about the lab-grown diamond industry that have come to light as a result of the FTC's recent rulings that diamonds are diamonds- whether they are grown in a lab or underground," said Shuster.
