On 14th July 2017, D&D London will be launching East 59th, a glamorous Manhattan-style rooftop bar and grill, with Executive Chef Lee Murdoch. This will be their fourth site in the city, joining Angelica, Crafthouse and Issho - the new Japanese restaurant which launched earlier this month. The all-day bar and grill, named after the address of D&D’s New York site Guastavino’s, will be a stylish new al fresco dining spot in the city centre.
Perfect for a quick business lunch and ideally located for city shoppers in the high-end Victoria gate development, the menu at East 59th will focus on the eclectic traditions of New York dining, including dishes such as Slow braised beef short rib, sweet mustard BBQ sauce, house pickle; Reuben sandwich with pastrami, gruyere, sauerkraut, toasted rye, sweet mustard dip; and Cobb salad with romaine lettuce, crispy bacon, grilled chicken, wood-fired artichoke, hen egg, Cashel blue and avocado alongside Orkney and Aberdeen Angus steaks or native lobster with garlic butter and charred lime. Weekend brunch dishes consist of stacked pancakes with crispy smoked bacon and maple syrup; Smoked salmon bagel, cream cheese and scallion; and Eggs Royale alongside free flowing Bloody Mary’s or Prosecco. In addition, late night grazing at the bar until 1am with Firecracker rock shrimp; Hamburger sliders or Nachos are served from the restaurant’s open kitchen, using top quality produce to create a relaxed, contemporary dining experience.
The stunning rooftop bar itself has incredible, panoramic views of the city and will be serving an innovative cocktail menu plus a wide selection of craft beers. House cocktails includeHoboken Sour (Bulleit Bourbon washed with peanuts, lemon juice, maple syrup and egg white, served in a coupette with popcorn); 59th Fizz (Tanqueray 10, tonic and elderflower cordial, Chardonnay Wine and clear Apple juice charged with CO2 and bottled, served with grapefruit twist and fresh coriander) and Long Island Iced Tea (Ketel One, Tanqueray, Havanna 3, Olmeca, Cointreau, lemon juice and Coca Cola). Drawing on New York’s vibrant nightlife, East 59th will also be running DJ sessions and music events on a weekly basis, bound to become one of the city’s most sought after destinations.
