NEW for 2015, MarBella Corfu is delighted to continue its focus on wellbeing with the introduction of Aerial Heart Yoga. Using classical positions and maintaining the philosophy and spirituality of traditional yoga combined with modern techniques, this new fitness trend allows you to be suspended, weightless a few feet above the ground in a safe and comfortable yoga hammock. Aerial Yoga officially launches when MarBella Corfu re-opens in May 2015 and will be available throughout the season. Group sessions last 1hr 15 minutes will take place in the purpose built yoga area whilst one to one sessions will also be available on request in stunning natural surrounds. The lush gardens of MarBella Corfu offer the ideal location to try Aerial Yoga with peace, tranquillity and an abundance of trees to hang from!

The benefits of Aerial Yoga extend far beyond simply relaxation and improvement of yogic practice. Aerial Yoga also combats many of the everyday symptoms of modern life, including stress, fatigue and joint pain. Aerial yoga optimally aligns the spine, decompressing the muscular and skeletal systems as well as stimulating the blood circulation and lymphatic system.  It assists the practice of inversion positions, without compression to the neck or shoulder area which in turn strengthens the entire body including the core, relieving back pain. Mental benefits are numerous and include improved concentration and cognitive function.

Made from a strong and flexible material, the yoga hammock allows you to lie, hang, stretch and defy gravity! This new fitness trend is designed to increase overall health and physical agility, using weightlessness to enhance flexibility through a variety of stretches and poses, creating a deep state of calm. Freeing the body from the usual limiting weight on the joints and muscles, Aerial Yoga allows you to relax into new and diverse yoga positions, allowing full expressions of the postures and increased spatial and self-awareness, which remains with you long after you come back down to earth.

Aerial Heart Yoga has been developed by Eutyxia Anifandi, who has been an aerial yoga/yoga teacher for the past eight years. She has combined various techniques both classic and modern to create an expressive and free flowing form of yoga open to all levels and abilities. Eutyxia is constantly evolving Aerial Heart Yoga through training courses and seminars. Her in-depth work with children and adults has allowed her to deepen her understanding of yoga and develop her ability to assist others to re-connect and regain confidence in their bodies.

MarBella Corfu is committed to providing only the best on every level, from dedicated excellence in guest service and care to the expansion of its range of activities for the whole family, which includes the introduction of Aerial Yoga.

Group sessions of Aerial Yoga will be available twice weekly as a part of MarBella Corfu’s activity programme and individual sessions are available on request.
