Something as beautiful as a luxury car deserves the utmost care to keep it looking its best. After all, having spent so much money on acquiring the car of your dreams, it’s important to keep it in tip-top condition not only so it looks good, but to also avoid hefty reparation bills at the garage.

Of course, each luxury car requires specific things, so it’s a good idea to ask your car dealer about maintenance and how often they recommend you to get check-ups. However, they all have some things in common, and here are a few things that all luxury cars need regularly.

Servicing

Just like lower value, everyday cars, luxury cars need to be serviced regularly. Even if you haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary, it’s a good idea to take them every so often so mechanics can spot issues early and sort them out before they become a bigger problem that will cost you lots of money to repair.

Protection

Luxury cars need protection in all kinds of situations.  Whether your area is enduring a particularly harsh winter, is particularly vulnerable to storms or even if you’re anxious about theft, luxury cars can often require very specific care.

If you own several luxury vehicles, help keep anxiety at bay with a multi car insurance policy that can help to protect each of your cars. You could also buy a protective cover to place on top of your car during the winter months or install a lockable garage that will keep your car safe from theft.

Cleaning

It’s an arduous task, but regular cleaning falls under the same bracket as servicing, in that you want your car to look its absolute best all year round.

And not only does cleaning serve aesthetic purposes, but it can also highlight and identify any damage, be that damage to the seats, to the dashboard, or to the bodywork. By identifying these issues, you’re also reducing wear and tear.

Drive safely

Perhaps the most obvious entry on this list is driving safely. There’s simply no point investing a lot of money into a luxury vehicle, only to damage it in an accident a few months down the line. Driving safely is the key to preserving your luxury vehicle for as long as possible.

It’s also a good idea to drive sensibly too. Going easy on the acceleration and breaking in good time will preserve your engine and your brakes and keep your car in great condition.

Check your tires

Whenever you’re refuelling at the station, make a point to check the air pressure in your tires. This will prevent the tires from losing balance or even bursting unexpectantly. If you notice that your tire threads have shrunk below 1.5mm, you will need to change them.
