Horse marshals are trained to skillfully and gracefully lead horse displays. They represent the country’s fascinating horse-riding traditions.

You can watch these majestic animals and the Horse Marshall lead them every day at 5:45 P.M. on the Qasr Al Watan grounds. It’s an experience that takes you deeper into the country’s interesting equestrian heritage.

 

2.     Military Music Show

Qasr Al Watan’s Military Music Show brings the spirit of the UAE’s armed forces to life through powerful rhythm and ceremony. Skilled musicians perform traditional marches and other melodies that reflect discipline, pride, and unity.

It is a moving performance that’s both entertaining and deeply meaningful, perfect for guests of all ages.

You can watch the show on the palace grounds every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4:00 P.M.

 

3.     Palace in Motion

Watch the palace and the evening sky glow with a stunning light-and-sound show that tells the story of the UAE’s past, present, and future vision. The show is divided into three acts, all magnificently presented to give you a better understanding of the country’s history, culture, and noble goals.

The Palace in Motion show takes place daily at 6:30 P.M. in front of the main Palace.

Guests are allowed entry to the show until 6:00 p.m. only.

The Falcon Experience, which gives guests a chance to explore the country’s falconry heritage, will also be back soon.

 

A Look at Qasr Al Watan’s Zones

Qasr Al Watan is made up of different zones, allowing you to delve into the UAE’s unique culture, history, and traditions.

1.     The Great Hall

The Great Hall serves as your entry point to the palace. Its highlights include a lofty dome, high arches, mirrored cubes, curved glass panels, and marble panels.

The hall features the palace’s three signature colors: blue, white, and yellow. It is adorned with eye-catching geometric shapes and Arabesque patterns.

2.     House of Knowledge

The House of Knowledge zone is home to prized treasures, including rare books, manuscripts, and other artifacts.

It currently hosts the Golden Ink Exhibition, an exhibit featuring Arabic manuscripts brought to life through four themes. Here, you’ll learn about the evolution of calligraphy, marginalia, and lithography from the manuscripts on display. 

3.     Qasr Al Watan Library

The Palace’s library, one of the largest in Abu Dhabi, houses around 50,000 books from different eras of the Arabian academe. Its books, newspapers, magazines, and other reading materials have been curated over the past 35 years.

Guests can also use the library computers and tablets to access the Internet and join panel discussions, learning camps, and cultural performances happening in this zone. You can also register as a member on the Department of Culture and Tourism website, which is open to all UAE residents and visitors.

4.     Hall of Presidential Gifts

The must-visit Hall of Presidential Gifts features a collection of diplomatic gifts received by the UAE from countries such as Japan, Germany, Kuwait, and Korea. These gifts demonstrate the generosity and respect between the UAE and other nations.

You can also learn the rules local officials must follow when selecting, giving, and receiving diplomatic gifts at the Presidential Gifts Hall.

5.     The Presidential Banquet

The palace’s official dining area allows guests to know more about the country’s culture and traditions. Here, you can learn about the customs and etiquette the local officials and staff observe when they receive and serve guests.

The Presidential Banquet Hall is one of the most beautiful areas in the palace, with its interiors and chairs featuring blue. It also boasts a collection of over 100,000 serving ware pieces, including silverware, china, and bespoke crystal.

6.     Spirit of Collaboration

The enormous circular Spirit of Collaboration room serves as the palace’s official meeting area. It has hosted several important gatherings and meetings for organizations such as the Federal Supreme Council, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the Arab League.

Here, you can learn about diplomacy and meeting protocol while admiring the room's fascinating layout and the eye-catching chandelier, made of 350,000 pieces of crystal, hanging from the lofty dome.
