Disney World is a fantastic experience for anyone, whether a solo traveler or family, and yet it’s a place often associated with basic accommodation - not luxury. This is set to change with the opening of a litany of luxury hotels in and outside of the parks, according to local insiders Orlando Weekly. This is great news for luxury travelers; the fun that the parks have, and all of the benefits that you can obtain through VIP tickets and FastPass packages, are finally being paired with a top level experience during the other parts of the vacation.
There areas of the Disney World resorts system that cater to luxury tourists. Insider notes, in particular, Animal Kingdom; this has held a luxury status for many years already, and with changes in the quality of accommodation throughout the park and outside improving, the Animal Kingdom resort is set to take on improvements itself. For families already involved with a DVC, or some other existing package, it’s not a bad idea to look to swap or resale contracts now in order to scale the luxury ladder. It’s a good idea because it’ll hit long before the peak of summer and mean that you have the best chance of getting a good deal - rather than something rushed.
The quality of accommodation is being driven up by nearby accommodation. Hotels outside of the park will often be sold without the premium of those inside, and that works to the benefit of travelers looking to get a bit of luxury - you’ll have a better idea of what you’re receiving for your message, too. Business Journals highlight a number of developments in that area of tourism, with particular focus drawn to the Darton 526-room property planned for over 30 acres of space outside of Orlando. Many other hotels are in planning or building in the area to cater to that market, and it will create greater value - and greater choice - for travelers.
The Orange County register rightly notes that the coronavirus has changed how Disney operates - in many ways, however, this is for the better. The greater space required for safe operation of the park has lent itself to more tailored experiences. Indeed, luxury experiences at the park are broadening in their nature and the amount of attention that can be given to individual park visitors and families. A glance at the VIP experiences offered by Disney shows this, as do park visitor reviews and the buzz around the parks and what they are currently able to present.
Disney is becoming a complete experience for travelers looking to enjoy luxury. The entertainment of the park has always been first class, but accommodation, food and tailored experiences perhaps have not been quite up to scratch. This is changing, from forces internally and externally, and that’s creating the perfect solution for travelers who like to enjoy their vacations in style.
