Car & Classic is set to make a big splash in the new year with the online auction of a rare, limited-edition hypercar starting on January 5th
The 2025 auction year of the popular car collector platform starts with an exclusive 2022 McLaren Senna LM. With just 46 miles accumulated, this almostnew hypercar comes from a renowned Dutch collection. Featuring a unique McLaren F1 Orange livery and custom features like vented fenders and a quad-tipped gold exhaust, this Senna LM is a must-see at the Lowman showroom in Utrecht.
As a tribute to the iconic Senna GTR, McLaren Special Operations crafted the limited-edition Senna, a hypercar that redefines the limits of road-legal performance. With only 20 examples ever built, the Senna is a testament to MSO's commitment to engineering excellence. The name "LM" is a clear reference to the victory at La Sarthe, as is the model's livery, inspired by the F1 GTR and featuring technical details that recall the race car. Compared to the Senna GTR's design, the Senna LM's is even more aggressive and effective: McLaren engineers worked tirelessly to optimize airflow around the car, creating incredible downforce that glues the car to the road even at the highest speeds.
The result is a hypercar that proudly sits between an imposing racing beast and an ultra-luxurious and refined sports car for the most demanding drivers. Although conceived to maintain the soul of a high-performance racing machine, the car does not forego the comforts for road driving such as a premium audio system, adjustable seats and steering, full climate control and a three-camera track telemetry system. In the supertechnological and functional cockpit, furnished with fine materials and attention to detail found in every component, the steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara fabrics and the enveloping seats offer exceptional lateral support.
Under the hood of the Senna LM beats a powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, capable of delivering a whopping 845 horsepower and a stratospheric maximum torque. These performance figures, combined with an extremely low weight thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber, allow the Senna LM to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in superbike times and reach dizzying top speeds.
A remarkable 5 of the 20 Senna LM cars were purchased by a single collector residing in Florida, they were the only ones destined for the US market. While 7, including the car that will be auctioned on Car & Classic, were fitted with right-hand drive. This particular LM boasts numerous distinctive features such as the heritage badge, engraved lettering, special racing wheels, and tinted windows: all elements that catch the eye and excite. This is a racer ready to run: the large, adjustable rear wing is full of adjustments and works in conjunction with the double diffuser and the F1-inspired roof scoop to provide enormous levels of downforce, keeping the car glued to the road regardless of the speedometer reading.
