The estate is like a slow meandering village with beautiful gardens, terraces and pools around the finca and the hotel, with an orange grove farm of 3000 trees, more formal Mediterranean gardens, lawns and flowerbeds, and of course the famous spa garden with panoramic views and its 43-metre fresh-water pool. Sweet-scented jasmine, hibiscus, lilies, roses and romantic gently swaying flowers permeate the air as you walk through the gardens with pomegranate, olive, palm and orange trees providing dappled shade.  Magenta bougainvillea frames the entrance to the hotel and a beautiful pergola strewn with vines provides a shaded outdoor restaurant area for La Veranda, the hotel’s farm-to-fork restaurant.

The Spa Garden with iconic long pool, daybeds, lawns and palms is the self-care oasis that is an Ibiza must-do for the day. The hotel’s magnificent 13-hectare estate is also home to the 3-hectare Vegetable Garden bursting with organic vegetables that are harvested all season for the group’s three restaurants on the island. Last month saw ‘Ottolenghi at Atzaró’, one of the hottest events of the Ibiza season, attended by a glamorous audience, which delivered a sell-out success for the famous Ibiza hotel.  A magical evening took place in the vast Vegetable Garden where one of the world’s best chefs, Yotam Ottolenghi, prepared an abundant feast for 200 guests to dine under the stars in the hotel’s stunning horticultural space, the sustainable heart of Atzaró Agroturismo Hotel.  The Vegetable Garden’s produce is entirely organic, grown with biodynamic and perma-culture methods, and includes fruits and vegetables that climb over pergolas across walkways lined with olive and tall cypress trees. The vegetable patches themselves make beautiful sights for garden walks, which hotel clients love.

The Vegetable Garden is also home to 200 solar panels, which generate the power supply for the garden and the entire estate. Not only is the power self-generated, but the hotel’s water, including its nine pools, is sourced from the on-site well. Filtered by osmosis water is still or sparkling and is the only bottled water available in the hotel’s restaurants, daybeds, and bedrooms. Sustainability and agrotourism are the key philosophies of Atzaró Group, harking back to the generations-old-farming understanding. The luxury hotel sits within the ‘Agroturismo’ category, as it still has a working farm. The Orange farm of 3000 trees supplies the citrus fruits to the Atzaró Group businesses on the island and to farm shops in Ibiza’s north.
