Dinner parties are back in style now people are spending more time at home. As culinary passion is revived all over the world, a new survey has found that over 50 percent of individuals who host dinner parties want their guests to try a new cuisine or flavor, with over 80 percent investing in high end snacks and appetizers to set the tone for the evening. If you’re planning to have a dinner party soon, why not serve some of the newest gourmet food trends to your family and friends? It’s a surefire way to impress your guests and leave a lasting impression on everybody. Consider these gourmet food trends to take your dinner party to the next level

Pule or donkey cheese

Pule or donkey cheese is said to be the most expensive cheese in the world, and every kilo of this Serbian delicacy is priced at about $1,100. One of the reasons why it’s so pricey is that Balkan donkeys produce less than a liter of milk a day, compared to cows, who can provide as much as 40 liters per day. Its texture is comparable to goat cheese, but it tastes similar to Manchego, with a Parmigiano Reggiano aftertaste. Currently, the only way to purchase this cheese is by taking a trip to Zasavica, which is a natural reserve in Serbia. If the Balkans isn’t in your travel plans this year, you can still wow your dinner party guests by serving a carefully curated selection of cheeses. You can learn by sampling different varieties if you sign  up for a cheese of the month subscription box, so you’ll know which cheeses to include in your grazing platters. Alternatively, have your cheeses flown in from La Mancha, Normandy or Somerset.

Glitter wine

If you want a conversation starter, consider serving glitter or shimmer wine or champagne at your next dinner party. These beverages are essentially a party in a bottle, as they contain bits of edible glitter, and you can definitely make your own glitter wine by stirring edible glitter into your favorite vintage. You can get edible glitter from Snowy River or Brew Glitter, or better yet, have a few bottles of glitter-infused wine from SpringGate Vineyard or The Washington Winery delivered to your doorstep.

Escargot caviar

Nothing is more luxurious than serving bowls of Beluga, Ossetra or Kaluga caviar at your soiree. But for an unusual twist, why not have some escargot caviar as well? As its name indicates, escargot caviar is essentially snail eggs, and the pearly-white, almost translucent eggs can provide a nice color contrast when served alongside a bowlful of Beluga caviar. It has an earthy, woodsy taste that’s reminiscent of smoked mushrooms, and it’s best eaten on toast points along with a smear of sour cream or on tartares of beef or prawn. Snail caviar costs about $1,300 per kilogram, and you can find the best kind in Italy or Long Island.

Take your dinner party to new heights by serving these gourmet treats. Not only will you impress your loved ones with these amazing eats, but you may also find a new favorite among these delightfully trendy foods.
