Specialist evening lectures by leading figures in the motoring world are scheduled this autumn at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu.
The talks, in the museum’s Collections Centre theatre offer a chance to hear interesting insights from experts and authors, and an opportunity to meet fellow enthusiasts.

Jon’s talk will give an overview of 100 years of MG cars with a special focus on Cecil Kimber best known for his role in being the driving force behind The M.G. Car Company.

Celebrating the 70th year of the iconic film Genevieve depicting the London to Brighton veteran car run. Genevieve and the other car from the iconic movie, Spyker, will be on display in the museum over the summer, and Genevieve will be in the Collections Centre for the evening for the Transport Torque.

English race car driver, holder of more than 100 national and international speed records, Goldie Gardner was awarded the BRDC Gold Star three times. In 1930 he was hired by Cecil Kimber, the managing director of MG Cars, to team up with the marque to which he would remain loyal. John Mayhead has written a biography of the Goldie Gardner, which is published by National Motor Museum Publishing in September.

Millions of people worldwide have watched award-winning documentaries made by Shell over the last 80 years – films that inform, entertain, and tackle the challenges of the time. The films Shell produced set out to inform and entertain, using action and animation to explain the mechanical marvels of the age to a wide audience. Join the Curator of Shell’s Heritage Art Collection at The National Motor Museum, for a rare screening of archival Shell Film Unit material – now held and cared for by the British Film Institute.
