Description
The French Laundry is Chef Thomas Keller's celebrated fine dining destination in Yountville, in the heart of California's Napa Valley. Keller came to Yountville in the early 1990s seeking a space to fulfill a longtime dream: a destination for fine French cuisine in the Napa Valley.
The restaurant occupies a rustic two-story stone cottage of river rock and timbers, built as a saloon in 1900 by a Scottish stonemason and later operated as a French steam laundry in the 1920s. It became a restaurant in 1978, and Keller purchased it in 1994.
The menu changes daily and is committed to classic French cuisine prepared with the finest quality ingredients, paired with an intense focus on impeccable guest service.
Since 2007 the Michelin Guide has awarded The French Laundry its highest rating of three stars, and the restaurant has received the Wine Spectator Grand Award. The James Beard Foundation honored it with the Outstanding Restaurant Award and named Thomas Keller Outstanding Restaurateur in 2007. The French Laundry is a member of Relais & Châteaux, Relais Gourmands and Traditions & Qualité.
